Welcome to 2011!

Hello again folks! I hope you had a great winter break and are refreshed and ready for the adventures and challenges that 2011 will bring!  The Tasglann team will be kicking off the New Year with a trip to Barra in the coming weeks, and with plenty of other visits planned across the island, it might not be long until you see us darkening your doorway!

We are not the only ones who will be busy! Click onto the Island’s Book Trust’s event page for exciting forthcoming events across the Western Isles and even up to Shetland!  We will post details of these events as they come up over the year, and if you are a member of a historical society or similar group who would like their event mentioned on this blog, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Remember also that 2011 is The Year of Scotland’s Islands which means this year will be packed with events celebrating the culture, skills and heritage of island people across Scotland.  There is also funding available for groups who wish to get involved with this project, if you are interested check out the downloads of this page for funding details.

With so much to look forward to over 2011, I guess all that’s left to say is Bliadhna Mhath Ùr!
