A good grilling

Grandpa from The Munsters

Unlike us, someone who doesn't like stakeholders

Regular visitors to the blog will know the Tasglann nan Eilean Siar is a project funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Comunn na Gàidhlig.

In order to over-see the project’s activities a Steering Group of stakeholders has been established to provide advice and help with meeting our objectives.  Participants included members of the Comainn Eachdraidh from up and down the Western Isles, the Island Book Trust, academics, curators, librarians and Comhairle staff.

Well, the first meeting was this afternoon and boy did they give us a grilling!  The main objective of the day was to update members on the project’s progress over its first few months and for them to scrutinise and adopt the Project Plan.  This they did with great enthusiasm asking lots of pertinant questions and offering sage advice from their wide experiences.  The project team managed to answer all of their queries (we think) and have come away with lots of new ideas (i.e. more work!).

It was a great first meeting and we extend our thanks to all those who were involved. Its good to know that so many different people are supportive of our project.
