Friday photo: The Carry, Glen Valtos

This week we’re off to Uig for our Friday photo and The Carry, Glen Valtos.  The postcard labels it as being Stornoway, even though anyone local knows it isn’t!

This bit of Lewis road always feels special to me as the steep slopes of the Glen are something you don’t see much of roadside in the Outer Hebrides!   The view here looks east, the small footbridge you can see now replaced a little further to the east with the road that takes you onto the Valtos peninsula.  Of course, the best bit about the Glen is at the west end where you’ll find the home of Comunn Eachdraidh Uig and a nice cup of tea and a roll and bacon waiting for you!
