Tomorrow Carloway Historical Society will celebrate 100 years since the opening of the Pentland Road, with events including a rally of vintage vehicles (some of which you may have spotted this week in the Royal Hotel car park in Stornoway) at 3pm, and a buffet in the Community Centre and an exhibition in the hall (£5 for adults and £3.50 for children) and a Dance to the Ness Melodeon Band starting at 7pm.
The photo above is from the Lewis Museum Trust collection of photographs held in Stornoway Library. We believe it to be a bus (we could be wrong!) which operated out of Breasclete, however we cannot make out the owner from the sign on the side of the vehicle.
