Friday photo; seagull egg sandwich anyone?

The above photo taken from Stornoway Library’s collection was purchased because it was assumed it was cliff climbing for seabird eggs on St Kilda.  However on closer inspection it would appear that it is actually from somewhere else in Britain, potentially the East coast of England, where this video was shot.  Do you recognise the postcard or the location?

Last night in Eriskay Dods Macfarlane gave a talk for the Islands Book Trust on ‘The Guga Hunt’, the last sanctioned hunt of seabirds allowed in Britain.  The talk is repeated tonight in Northbay Hall, Barra at 8pm.

The Islands Book Trust has some great events coming up over the winter season, be sure to check out their event page for more details.
