Next time you venture to the Library here in Stornoway, make sure and have a look at Tasglann nan Eilean Siar’s new display boards that have taken pride of place in the display cabinets.
They give some great information on some Stornoway shops of yesteryear and there are some fantastic pictures of them too. Please get in touch with the Tasglann if you have any comments on the boards as they have proved very popular since they were installed.
The boards tie in with an event we are hoping to hold in the Library on the evening of the 11th of August from 7pm until 8.30 where we are inviting anyone with an interest in Stornoway shops of old to come along and share their memories and also bring along any items they have which may be of interest.
