Au revoir, Mary!

Yesterday was a sad day in Stornoway Library as we waved goodbye to librarian Mary Ferguson.  After more years than she cares to disclose of steely glares and telling noisy readers “shush” helping the public to get the most out of the library service she is entering a well earned retirement.

Mary is a fountain of knowledge and has been of great help and support to the Tasglann team.  We’ll certainly miss her but we’re sure she won’t be a stranger.  One thing she won’t miss though is wrestling with the library catalogue server, Dynix.  Here she is booting the system up for one last time yesterday morning!

And I suspect she’s never “shushed” a library user in her life!
