Friday photo; Prince of wAles

With the news that Prince Charles is to visit Harris next Thursday, we give you fair warning to stockpile cherry brandy over the weekend before he gets here.  For those we have never heard this story, the Crown Hotel is infamous for serving the Prince at the tender age of 14, while he was visiting the the Western Isles on a school yacht trip.  He ducked into the bar to hide from prying eyes of those who sought a glimpse of the future king, and ordered a cherry brandy.  He sadly chose the spot beside a freelance reporter, with the result of the story spreading across the world the next day, leaving the Prince quite dis-spirited…

If you fancy your own glimpse of the Lord of the Isles, he will be visiting Leac a’Li Community Centre and the Isle of Harris Knitwear Company (good idea, given the continuing rubbish weather).
